The Liacouras Center sits on the heart of Philadelphia’s Broad Street. With a capacity of just over 10,000; it is the largest indoor public assembly venue north of City Hall in Philadelphia at 340,000 sq. ft.

The venue was built in 1997 and originally named “The Apollo of Temple”.  It was renamed in 2000 to honor the University’s then-president, Peter Liacouras.  

It has been the home court of the Temple Men’s Basketball team since the 1997/98 season, and the Temple Women’s Basketball team since the 2022/23 season. Collegiate and professional sports have a significant history in the arena; as it has been a host for several NCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Tournament rounds, the USA Gymnastics Championships, TNA and AEW Wrestling, and many major boxing matches. 

As a key part of Philadelphia's vibrant arts scene, it has hosted some of the biggest names in music throughout the years; including Bob Dylan, John Mayer, Green Day, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Kanye West. Through its multi-purpose design, it has also transformed into the backdrop for presidential rallies, community town halls, theatrical shows, and more.
